Subsidies for Folding Bikes

This is one thing CalTrain could do to address its bike capacity problems and make everybody happy. And if LA Metro can do it--and get a grant from the state to pay for it--why isn't CalTrain jumping on this?

More "trouble on the line" today. I'm turning off twitter updates to my phone until I either get a data plan so I don't have to pay $0.30 per SMS, or at least til I'm actually commuting again.

Adoption of @Caltrain and @bikecar is a double edged sword. I have dropped SMS updates and now just check twitter manually, but it was more efficient when my phone would start buzzing while I was riding to the station. My biggest @Caltrain victory was grabbing the phone off my chest and reading "Our train just hit someone" and I made a left turn into the 7-11 to get some snacks. By the time I made the station and cracked open the first beer, the rest of the peons didn't even know there was a problem yet.

Caltrain is investigating a folding bike subsidy.

Another topic: VTA had their first meeting to talk about BART last night. Read it and weep.
